Thanks to everyone that helped make this year’s conference such a great success: the board members, the presenters, our vendors, and everyone who stayed around to lend a hand! A special thanks goes to Olivia Gude, our amazing keynote speaker and Arlene Braithwaite our paint out artist! As a board we are continually amazed by the generosity of art educators! We want to thank you for your contributions!

I think it was unanimous, Olivia Gude’s keynote was fabulous! You can see a pdf version of the keynote address from her website, New School Art Styles.

This year’s keynote speaker Laurie Gatlin

“....using reflective visual journals is an integral part of the coursework...”  Stay tuned to have our keynot speaker to share how to  “Incorporate artifacts as well as relating stories of classroom behavior, emotional ups and downs, 'aha' moments of both students and self – all these facets of the teaching day are put together on the page, allowing students to step back and analyze their actions, the actions of their students, and what they may have learned from a situation.”   She will offer a variety of book-making options and share a number of visual journals, both her personal journal work as well as the sketchbooks of visual arts professionals so that we can help our students to choose an approach that fits their expressive style.
